Bessie Coyla Harvey, 86, of 1060 Brown Ave., Galesburg died at 9:55 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2005, at Seminary Manor. Born Jan. 5, 1919, in Woolstock, Iowa, to McCoy and Ellen Ethyl Beall Parrish, she married Delbert R. Harvey on Aug. 20, 1940, in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Surviving are two daughters, Rita (and Paul) Sandborg of Galesburg and Jacquelyn (and Larry) Davis of Neptune Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.A Galesburg resident for 60 years, she served as an election judge in Knox County for many years. She volunteered for many school organizations and was a former member of Lake Bracken Country Club. She was of the Christian faith. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 6:30 tonight at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to any charity.
