Rita M. Ferguson, 55, of 1631 B Ave. NE, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, in her home after a sudden illness. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Stewart Funeral Home, by the Rev. Dwayne Thoman. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. today. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Survivors include her mother, Harriet Foster of Eagle Grove; her husband, James; two stepsons, Ross Ferguson of Macomb, Ill., and Scott Ferguson of Coralville; a stepdaughter, Jamie Young of Cedar Rapids; four brothers, Ronald Foster of Wisconsin Dells, Wis., Kenny Foster of Fort Dodge, Sammuel Foster of Woolstock and Steven Foster of Eagle Grove; and five sisters, Beverly Blue and Verna Lee Foster, both of Eagle Grove, Thelma Johnson of Spencer, Harriet Kay Taylor of Fort Dodge and Susan Que Kamprath of Iowa City.
Also surviving are six stepgrandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by her father, a son and a daughter. Rita was born Feb. 22, 1941, in Algona to Kenneth and Harriet Fosnaugh Foster. She married James W. Ferguson on Oct. 16, 1986. She worked as a nurses aid for several nursing homes here in Cedar Rapids.
