FRED BJORNSON, 75, passed away October 30, 2005 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 3 at Immanuel United Methodist Church with cremation following the service. Fred was born June 4, 1930 in Goldfield, Iowa, son of Fred and Lena Bjornson. He graduated from Goldfield High School in 1948. He married Bertha Mae Kiley on January 29, 1949 and from this union were three children. He was employed by the Urbandale High School until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church.

Fred is survived by his wife, Bertha Mae; three children, Fred "Tom" (Mary) Bjornson of Pleasant Hill, Laura (Don) Snyder of Troy, MO, and Rahn (Maurine) Bjornson of Urbandale; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 2 at Westover Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
