BROOKS, DUANE H., 67, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (Aug. 27, 2005) at home under hospice care. He came here in the early 1970s from his native Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran. He worked as a security guard in a jewelry store. Survivors include a son, Gerald Smith, Cambridge Springs, Pa.; four daughters, Holly Webster and Valerie Prosser, both of St. Petersburg, Debbie Ross, Conneaut Lake, Pa., and Norma Jean Irwin, Sharon, Pa.; his mother, Naomi, Goldfield, Iowa; a brother, Robert, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
