A funeral service for retired Lt. Col. Merle "Pete" Johnson, 83, of Vacaville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Covenant Community Presbyterian Church, 3870 Alamo Drive, Vacaville.
Pastor John Moser of Covenant Community Presbyterian Church will officiate.Burial with full military honors at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery will be private prior to services. Pete died May 22, 2005, in Vacaville. Born Sept. 7, 1921, in Goldfield, Iowa, he retired from the U.S. Air Force. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northbay Alzheimer's Resource Center, 1000 Nut Tree Road, Vacaville, 95687. Arrangements are under the direction of Vaca Hills Chapel.
