1938-2003Patrick Joseph Gilligan, 64, of Melbourne, Fla., died May 12 at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge, Fla. Mr. Gilligan was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and moved to Melbourne in 1981 from Cheyenne. Prior to retirement he worked for the U.S. government for 30 years as a geodetic surveyor. He was a member of Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 2, Brevard County, and past state president. He was a member of the Father Gabriel Council Knights of Columbus 3746. He served in U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his fiancee, Aida Goldsmith of Melbourne; four sons, Patrick Gilligan Jr. of Dallas, Terry Gilligan of Cape Canaveral, Fla., Randy Gilligan of Lompoc, Calif., and Geff Gilligan of Danville, Calif.; one daughter, Joyce Pukash of Cheyenne; two brothers, Michael Gilligan of Carpentria, Calif., and Paul Gilligan of Manchester, Wash.; four sisters, Regina Madison of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Mary Armstrong of Algona, Iowa, Kathleen Jewell of Goldfield, Iowa, and Teresa Baer of Algona, Iowa; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Gilligan was preceded in death by one grandchild. Services have been held. Arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne.
