Memorial service for Elgin E. Stafford, 82, was Friday at 2 p.m. at the Valley Assembly of God Church. Mr. Stafford, who died Tuesday, was born in Goldfield, Iowa, and reared in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He served in the Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands and Europe. Mr. Stafford and his family came to Spokane in 1956 from Eagle Grove. He worked for 17 years at Inland Empire Paper and for URM for 10 years, retiring in 1983. Mr. Stafford was a member of the Valley Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Nell; a daughter, Sandra Milliken of Spokane; a son, Dennis Stafford of Arlington, Texas; a brother, Clifford Stafford of Spokane; a sister, Joan Rickaby of Arizona; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Education Program, 711 S. Cowley, Suite 220, Spokane, WA 99202 or the American Heart Association.
