Eldon Palmer Schultz, 71, died Feb. 19, 2000, at Obici Hospital. Mr. Schultz was a native of Rutland, Iowa, the son of the late Niels P. and Ida Tonderum Schultz. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member and former deacon of Holland Baptist Church. He retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Tidewater Agricultural Experiment Station. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Roberts Schultz; a daughter, Sharon S., and son-in-law, C. Mercer Oast, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; two sisters, Agnes M. Schultz of Clarion, Iowa, and Helen M. Rasmussen of Goldfield, Iowa, and her husband, Marshall Rasmussen; two brothers, Oscar Schultz and Donald T. Schultz and his wife, Helen Schultz, of Clarion, Iowa; two granddaughters, Katherine Elizabeth and Courtney Mercer Oast; two nieces; and six nephews. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Ed Sunday-Winter. Burial will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the family residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holland Baptist Church Family Life Center, P.O. Box 7086, Suffolk, VA 23437.
