Minnie Hazel Carter, 88, died of heart failure April 9, 1998, in Vancouver,Washington. She was born Aug. 27, 1909, in Goldfield, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Murl E. Elsensohn, in 1944, and her second husband, Amos R., in 1990. Survivors include one son, D.L. Elsensohn of Vancouver; one sister, Agnes Kellogg of Ames, Minn; and one brother, Henry Mortenson of Bemidji, Minn. Mrs. Carter lived in Vancouver for the past 56 years. She was a homemaker. No service is scheduled. Her body will be cremated. Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donors choice.
