EVELYN WHITMAN LONGTAIN-GORTON
A private memorial service will be held in Colton for Evelyn Whitman Longtain-Gorton of Depoe Bay, Oregon who died April 7 at age 90. Mrs. Longtain-Gorton was born Sept. 5, 1906, in Goldfield, Iowa. Her maiden name was Whitman. She married Emil Longtain in 1926; he died in 1945. She married Clifford Gorton in 1948, and he died in 1963. She was a nurse's aide and cooked in nursing homes. She belonged to the Assembly of God. She moved to Depoe Bay a year ago from Colton. Survivors include her sons, Burrell Longtain of Mulino and Clifford Gorton of Eugene; daughters, Nova Longtain of Depoe Bay, Naomi Longtain of Milwaukie, Sharon Felix of Colton, and Kaye Longtain of Lebanon; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Pacific View Memorial Chapel.
