Alta Vivian Graves, 100, of Clinton, formerly of Peoria, died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at Dr. John Warner Hospital in Clinton. Born April 22, 1896, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to John Alfred and Mary Ann Allen Watkins, she married Clifford Graves on June 24, 1916, in Waubay, S.D. He died March 26, 1973. Four brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild also preceded her in death. Surviving are five sons, Clifford "Bud" and John, both of Peoria, Gary of Clinton, Don of Danville and Bob of Punta Gorda, Fla.; three daughters, Donna Moreland, Lois Masters and Margeurite Shaklee, all of Peoria; one sister, Sylvia Block of Sisseton, S.D.;18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Ronald Miller will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Calvert Funeral Home in Clinton and one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria. Memorials may be made to Crestview Nursing Center activity fund in Clinton.
