Sister Georgine Vilmain, OP, 86, of St. Dominic Villa, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 3, 1999, at the villa. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa, Wis., with burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Gathering Place, Sinsinawa, where there will be a wake service at 6:30 p.m. The Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., is in charge of arrangements. Sister Georgine was an elementary teacher and administrator for 58 years. She taught at schools in Minnesota, Washington, D.C., Illinois, Wisconsin and Alabama. From 1990-98, she served in the community life at the Dominican Motherhouse, Sinsinawa. In 1998, she retired to St. Dominic Villa in Dubuque. She was born on July 28, 1912, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, daughter of Leon S. and Josephine (LeJal) Vilmain. She made her first profession of religious vows on Aug. 5, 1932.Surviving are two brothers, Richard Vilmain, of Eagle Grove, and Francis Vilmain, of Gallatin, Mo.; nieces and nephews; and the Dominican Sisters, with whom she shared life for 67 years. Memorials may be given to the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters
