Clara M. James, 93, of Sun Road, rural Washburn, died at 2:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Heartland Health Care Center in Henry. Born Oct. 1, 1908, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Clarence and Catherine Moore Warner, she married Edward E. James on Feb. 22, 1926, in Austin, Minn. He died Dec. 3, 1977. She also was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.Surviving are one brother, William (and Coreen) Warner of Elmhurst; and two sisters, Frances (and Einer) Petersen of Burnsville, Minn., and Evelyn Smith of Albert Lea, Minn.She had been a receptionist and office assistant for the Sun Foundation in rural Washburn.Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. David Pyell will officiate. Cremation will be accorded after the services. Burial of ashes will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst at a later date.Memorials made be made to the Sun Foundation.
