J. Dawn Jensen, 62, of rural Wellman, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, in Mercy Iowa City. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, where there will be a visitation from 11:30 a.m. until services. Graveside services: 11:30 a.m. Monday, Elmwood Cemetery, Renwick, by the Rev. Gail Schoening. Memorial donations can be made in Dawn's memory to the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City. J. Dawn Clowes Jensen was born Dec. 28, 1943, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Elsie (Hunt) Clowes. She graduated from Boone Valley High School, Renwick, Iowa, in 1962, received her B.A. degree from the University of Iowa and her master's degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill. For the past 20 years she had been employed at the University of Iowa. On Aug. 16, 1975, she was united in marriage to Edward Jensen in Iowa City. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Iowa City.Dawn had many passions; as a gifted musician, she loved music, she enjoyed her plants and many animals, but most of all she cherished her family and friends. Her family includes her husband, Ed of Wellman; sisters and their husbands, J. Diane Adam and Loren of Gowie, Iowa, and J. Donell Doering and David of Mason City, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Ryan Adam, Kari Adam, Meagan Williams and Eric Adam, Jen Doering and Chris Doering; and special family friend, Don Wilson of Hardy, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents.Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Dawn's family and her services.
