Wayne W. Lalor, 80, of 519 E. Patterson St., Lansford, died Wednesday in the St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. He was the husband of Dorothy (Puskar) Lalor. Their 31st wedding anniversary was Wednesday.He served 23 years, from 1945-62, in the Navy and attached to the Marines during World War II. Toward the end of his service career, he was detached to the White House. Later, he was involved in building and running convention centers and arenas. His latest was the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York. Born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, he was a son of the late Raymond and Roxina (Orr) Lalor. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and AMVETS Post 83, both of Lansford, and the American Legion Post 314, Lehighton. He was an avid ice skater. Surviving in addition to his widow are three brothers, Roger in Missouri, David in Indiana and Raynard in Iowa; three sisters, Hermine Wingerson in Iowa, Mary Battin in Illinois and Betty Smith in Iowa; and three grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son Patrick; a brother Jerry; and a sister, Maxine Smith. The Skrabak-Parambo Funeral Home, 210 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, is in charge of the arrangements.
