Leora Ellen Ufheil, 92, of 279 N. Lecanto Highway in Lecanto, Florida died at 5:30 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2005 at Woodland Terrace Nursing Home in Hernando, Florida. She was formerly of 1471 Valle Vista Blvd. in Pekin. Born December 13, 1912 in Eagle Grove, Iowa to Clinton and Ida Keena Flathers, she married Albert Ufheil in December 1937 in Peoria. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 11, 1979 in Dunedin, Florida; 7 brothers; and 1 sister.Surviving are 2 sons, John (Rosemary) Ufheil of Lecanto and James (Catherine) Ufheil of Medford, New Jersey; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Robert (Phyllis) Fabry of Wyoming, Illinois; and 1 sister, Mary (Ralph) Hanes of Maroa, Illinois. A homemaker, she was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Pekin and the King's Daughters. She collected ceramic birds and bird photos and enjoyed reading. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2005 at First United Presbyterian Church in Pekin. Rev. Robert A. Scott will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
