Harold “Gene” Vorland

Harold “Gene” Vorland, 81, passed away on January 3, 2005 in Yuma. He was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa on March 21, 1923. Gene was a member of the Local 428, Operating Engineers Union for more than 30 years. He also was a member of the Valley Baptist Church. Gene is survived by his wife, Florence Vorland, of Yuma; son, Hal (Monte) Vorland, of San Diego, California; and daughters, Debbie (Audie) Dixon, of Kettle Falls, Washington and Kristi (Dave) Wilson, of Hayden Lake, Idaho; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at Valley Baptist Church on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 10 a.m. with funeral services immediately following. Glenn Connell officiating. Final resting place to be Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
