Nadine R. Wingaard Winter, 70, of Oskaloosa, died Monday, Feb. 9, at Mahaska Hospital. Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Beacon United Methodist Church. She was born March 9, 1933, in her grandmother's home in Eagle Grove, to Ivan and Borghild Wingaard. She grew up in Eagle Grove, spent most of her adult life in Fairfield, and moved to Oskaloosa in 1984. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She had a wide variety of interests, including listening to music, reading, crossword puzzles and cooking. She was known for her wit and sense of humor, and was a well-known raconteur. She is survived by her mother; two brothers: Roger Wingaard and Jim Wingaard of Eagle Grove; a sister, Lavonne Bige of Clear Lake; and her special friend, Chuck Gentz. She was preceded in death by her father.
