Orville Bjornson, 86, 903 S. Fourth St., Wapello, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at the Wapello Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born April 16, 1916, in Goldfield, Iowa, the son of Fred and Lena Nelson Bjornson. He graduated from Goldfield High School and attended AIB in Des Moines. He married Eva Bertsch on Aug. 19, 1939, at Bethany, Mo. She died Aug. 2, 2001. He was a member or the United Presbyterian Church at Goldfield. After retiring from farming in the Goldfield community they moved to Des Moines where he worked at the Strauss Lock Co. for several years.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Schnell of Wapello and Carolyn Mathis of Urbandale; a brother, Fred Bjornson of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse Eva, and two brothers, Donald and Merle. Following cremation, the burial service for the cremains of Orville and Eva was held at the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield.
