MAN AND WIFE 50 YEARS
Montesano Couple Celebrates Golden Wedding.MONTESANO, Wash.. Oct. 30. (Special.) Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Calder, of this city, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Thursday. The event was in the nature of a party and reception and was a surprise to the old couple, being gotten up by relatives, the G. A. R., W. R. C. and W. C. T. U., of which organizations both are members. Mr. and Mrs. Calder both enjoy good health and were the recipients of hearty congratulations as well as valuable presents from relatives and friends. They were married in Wright County, Iowa, October 28, 1859. Mr. Calder was then probate Judge of the county. After serving in the Civil War, Mr. Calder settled with his wife at at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where they resided until 18 years ago, when they came to Montesano where they have since resided. They have five children living, all of whom are married, two of whom, J. E. Calder and Mrs. Dr. Moak, reside in this city.
