Elizabeth Lou Grosland, 78, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City, Iowa. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 26, 2024 at Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 1st Ave S, Northwood, IA, with Mark Doebel Officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm also at Conner Colonial Chapel. Elizabeth was born on April 24, 1945, in Northwood, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin and Matilda (Freund) Grosland. She was a graduate of Northwood-Kensett High School's Class of 1963. After graduation she attended Mason City School of Cosmetology and worked as a beautician. Elizabeth married Juell Jensen in April 1968. They had two children: Richard and LaRae. They made their home in Northwood until they later divorced. Elizabeth then moved her family to Mason City and worked various jobs until shortly before her death. She had a reputation for her strong work ethic, independence, and love for the outdoors and animals. Dogs, cats, squirrels, and birds held a special place in her heart. Elizabeth also enjoyed cooking and kept a meticulously clean home. Those left to cherish memories of Elizabeth are her children, Rich (Stacy) Jensen, and LaRae Jensen her significant other Lyell Hogg; grandchildren, Taylor (Ryan) Casey, Briar Jensen her significant other Brady Flattery, Michael Rongey, Haedyen Deroos, and Cooper Deroos; sister, Maxine "Jo" (David) Nelson; brother, Tom Grosland; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marlys Shugar; brother, James Grosland; and ex-husband Juell Jensen.
