Marie Liljedahl
(March 13, 1885 – May 25, 1907)Miss Marie Liljedahl, who had been ill with consumption for over a year, passed on May 25th to her heavenly home, being well prepared for the journey. She was born in Vik, Sogn, Norway, March 13, 1885, immigrated to this country April 28, 1903, accompanied by her brother John and sister, Sena. She was occupied as a servant girl about all of the time until the winter of 1906, when she attended common school to acquire the English language. She was well liked and much respected wherever she worked. In the winter of ’06 she contracted a cold which developed into consumption, owing to her neglect. When she finally consulted a physician she very carefully followed his instructions and for a while seemed to get the better of the disease. But during the winter she was attached with la grippe and soon all hope of recovery was gone. During four weeks she suffered intensely, but she was resigned to her Master’s will. At the age of 22 years, 2 months and 12 days, she passed peacefully away to meet the Savior for whom she longed. Interment was made in the Silver Lake Cemetery, May 27th, Rev. T. J. Torgerson officiating.
