ARVILLA M. YEZEK

MASON CITY — Arvilla M. Yezek, 74, of Mason City, died Thursday (March 2 0, 2003) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Her funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Holy Family Ca tholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave. in Mason City, with the Rev. Dennis Cahi ll officiating. An inurnment service will be held at Memorial Park Cemete ry later in the Spring.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the Hogan-Bremer-Moo re Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City, with a Catholic Daug hters of the Americas Rosary at 5 p.m. and a V.F.W. Auxiliary servi ce at 6 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the Arvilla M. Yezek Memorial Fund.

Arvilla was born Sept. 15, 1928 in rural Manly, the daughter of Chester a nd Ruth (Logemann) Doebel.

While growing up, she helped her father raise Holstein cattle and farm.

She was active in 4-H and showed calves at several Worth County Fairs.

Arvilla attended school in Plymouth and Manly, graduating from Manly Hi gh School with the Class of 1946.

Following graduation, she was employed as a secretary at Decker's Sporti ng Goods in Mason City.

Arvilla was united in marriage to Kenneth Yezek on Oct. 19, 1947, at Sacr ed Heart Rectory in Manly. To this union, three children were born. Kenne th preceded her in death in May 1994.

Arvilla was a Worth County homemaker aide, site manager of the Manly Seni or Center, and retired from the Manly Care Center in 1994.

She loved gardening, her family and her home, where all were made welcome.

She was an active member of her community at Holy Family Catholic Churc h, St. Esther's Circle, Bible Study Group, Catholic Daughters of America C ourt No. 52, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #0110 of Manly, VFW Auxilia ry Post No. 733 of Mason City, Queen Rebekah Lodge No. 106 and Crimson Cut -ups Red Hat Society.

Arvilla will be greatly missed by two sons, Gerald Yezek of Manly, and h is two children, Tracy (Harold) Van Sabben and Kristie, all of Carpente r; and Dean Yezek and his wife, Ann, of Manly, and their two children, Je ff (Amy) Yezek of Manly and Joe (Donna) Yezek of Manly; one daughter, Ju ne Arickx, her husband, Gregg, and their son, Brandon, all of Osage, 10 gr eat-grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn (Gene) Urbany, of Sun City, Ariz .; one brother-in-law, Vern (Floris) Yezek of Manly; one sister-in-law, Be rnadette (Vern) Smith of Hemat, Calif., and her loving Pomeranian, Ginger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant brothe r, Henry; and an infant sister, Doris.
