Scott Harvey Patterson of Kensett, Iowa, 40, died Monday Jan. 3, 2011, at his home.
A funeral services for Scott was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at the First Lutheran Church, 309 North Ninth Street, Northwood, with Pastor Tom Martin officiating. Burial was in the Kensett Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave. South, Northwood. Visitation was also be held one hour prior to service time on Friday at the church.
Scott was born June 4, 1970, at Mercy Hospital, Mason City, to Harvey and Carol (Pedersen) Patterson. He graduated from Northwood-Kensett High School in May of 1989 and attended Iowa State University.
He worked for Fleetguard in Lake Mills for 12 years and was currently employed at Winnebago Industries. He was united in marriage on May 22, 1999, to Tammy Bergdale, the love of his life and soulmate. On that day he became the proud father to Jessie and Nicole. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Northwood. He was an avid fisherman who loved boating and spending time with family and friends. He also loved his four-legged friends. Scott was a very avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His favorite saying was, "It's all good."
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tammy Patterson; son, Jessie Leidal; daughter, Nicole Leidal; and her special friend, Zach Jones; mother and father in-law, Wesley and Arlys Bergdale of Kensett; mother, Carol Patterson of Mason City; father Harvery “Evy” Patterson of Northwood; grandmother, Geneva Patterson of Northwood, brother, Dan (Peggy) Patterson of Northwood, nephew Jamie Patterson, great-nephew Xavier Patterson, nephew Robert Patterson (Lisa Foley) and niece Heather Patterson (Tony Brown), sister Deb Wagner (Mark Stratmann) of New Prague, Minn., niece Kristen (Jonathan) Penn, great-nieces and great-nephews Madyson, Ryleigh and Leighton; brother Todd (Dana Hruebtz) Patterson of Manly, Iowa; nephews and nieces Zachary and Thomas Patterson, Danielle and Kaitlyn Hruebtz; sister Bridget (Robert) True of Mason City, nephew Tony “Sunny” Kindschuch; niece Tori True; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Leroy and Evadna Pedersen, grandfather Robert Patterson, brother in-laws Kim Kindschuh and Dennis Wagner, and nephews Nathan & Dustin Wagner.
