Ida M. Gillihan, age 102, of Northwood, died Saturday, June 4, 2005 at the Lutheran Retirement Home, in Northwood, IA. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Highway 65 South, Northwood, IA with Rev. Wendi Gillan officiating. The family greeted friends on Tuesday evening at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Sunset Rest Cemtery, Northwood, Iowa.

Ida M. Gillihan was born on November 9, 1902 in Ames, IA to Isaac B. Thomas and Ursula M. (Oswald) Thomas. Ida lived in her own home until the age of 98 at which time she entered the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.

She enjoyed playing the organ. She also enjoyed going to the Senior Center everyday. Her pets meant a great deal to her. Survivors include her two daughters; Joanne Johnson and her husband Donald of Northwood, and Rachel Crapser of Sheridan, WY; Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, two husbands, five stepchildren and two brothers.
