—The sad news was received In Decorah Monday that Mrs. Henry T. Toye had died at Northwood from cancer of the stomach. Mr. Toye has many old friends here who will sympathize with him in his bereavement. Dr. W. R. Toye and son Herbert went out to attend the funeral.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this is Ella and that she is buried in Sunset Rest Cemetery and was born in 1851.

A Kindly Tribute.
The death of Mrs. Henry T. Toye at Northwood was briefly mentioned last week. As a maiden she came to Iowa in 1873, and in May 1875 married Mr. Toye. In the fall of that year they moved to Northwood where they have since lived. In the Index of last week we find this tribute to her memory;
Mrs. Toye was gracious, generous and kind to all. To her friends she was constant and true, and to her family she was ever as unselfish and loyal as a wife and mother could be. She was a woman whose Christian character could not be questioned. Her words concerning her profession of faith were not many; they were not often spoken and never lightly. She wished to make her daily living the record by which she was to be judged. Though for years she has suffered much her faith has sustained her and wavered not. With a brave heart and cheerful face she endured sorrows and pain and tried to keep the shadows from falling on any one else. During the last seven years she has made a constant and heroic struggle for health as few in the world would think of and less number would endure. It was her constant purpose to wait patiently, “Until the day break, and the shadows flee away.”
