Marian A. Holstad, 85, of Lake Mills, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills. Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 12, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with Rev. Kevin Mackey officiating. Burial was at Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills with Mittlestadt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Marian Alice was born January 17, 1920, in Worth County, the daughter of Edward and Alice (Tapager) Meehan. She was a resident in this area all her life. She attended rural schools and graduated from Lake Mills High School. She was a member of Bristol Church and later Salem Lutheran Church. On February 18, 1939, Marian was united in marriage to Arnold M. Holstad at the Sion Lutheran parsonage in rural Lake Mills.

Survivors include her daughter Sharon and husband Jerome Jensen of Albert Lea, Minn.; five grandchildren, Thomas Jensen and James Jensen both of Clarks Grove, Minn.; Allen W. Holstad II and his wife Lauri of Windsor, Colo.; Amy Jo and husband Eric Pagel of Greeley, Colo.; and Robert Jensen of Clarks Grove, Minn.; two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Sam Jensen of Clarks Grove, Minn.; one brother Edward and his wife Betty Meehan of Lamont; sister-in-law, Beverly Dregne of Clear Lake; brother-in-law, Alton Johnson of Clear Lake; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Shirley Holstad of Clear Lake; Vi and Verne Nelson of Calif.; and her best friend, Betty Colby of Lake Mills; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arnold; her son Allen; her sister Marjorie Miles; her brother Richard Meehan and another brother in infancy.
