Anna Mae Evans, 71, of Northwood, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood. Memorial services will he held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, with Rev. Wayne Hagen officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Sunset Rest Cemetery.

Anna was born on June 23, 1933 in Mason City to Oscar M. Olson and Flossie Lowe Olson. She went to school in Kensett. She married Russell L. Evans on September 16, 1951. She loved to sew, make quilts for her grandchildren, collect angels and cherubs, garden, and baking. She loved her animals and her little dog Charlie, her two cats Poots and Daisy Mae. She worked at Spurgeons, then she and Russ ran Evans Plumbing and Heating for 21 years. She also worked at Caseys and Townmart.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Carrie Ellen Olson, brother Arthur Olson, husband Russell Evans, father Oscar Olson, mother Flossie Olson, uncles Iver Olson and Oliver Olson, and aunts Ellen and Amanda. Survivors include her children, Kirk Evans and his wife Ann of Alaska and their children Brandon, Sarah Lester, Ryan and Chris; Jill Evans-Mellem and her husband Dennis of Northwood and their children, Lisa Scholl, Betsy Ingersoll, and Emily Mellem; and son Mike Evans of Northwood and his children Samuel and Elsa. There are also ten great grandchildren surviving.
