CARL HAMBLY DIES AT MOUNT PLEASANT, IA.
Principal Witness in James Otteson Case Passed Away Last Wednesday- Was Suffering From Cancer.
Carl Hambly, 52, of Northwood, Iowa, formerly of Albert Lea, and the principal witness in the Sheriff James Otteson case here a number of years ago, died Wednesday morning at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, of heart failure.
Mr. Hambly and experienced an operation at the hospital in Iowa City last week for a cancerous condition of his throat after which he returned to Mount Pleasant, where he had been recently employed and suffered the fatal heart attack.
The body was brought to Northwood last Wednesday and was taken to the Northwood funeral home where services will be held. The exact time has not been announced as yet. Burial will be in Sunset Rest cemetery.
Mr. Hambly is survived by his widow, one son and one daughter.

MAN KNOWN HERE DIES SUDDENLY
Carl Hambly, a salesman for the Eppers Motor company in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, died suddenly at 6 o'clock Wednesday morning.
Mr. Hambly had been suffering with a throat ailment, and had been taking treatments in Iowa City, and otherwise appeared to be in his usual health.
He is survived by his wife and several children in Northwood, Iowa.
Mr. Hambly was known here.

Hambly Funeral is Held in Northwood

NORTHWOOD – Funeral services for Carl Hambly, 52, were held Sunday afternoon at the Northwood funeral home conducted by the Rev. Carl J. Spieker, pastor of the Baptist church. Burial was made in Sunset Rest cemetery, Northwood.
Mr. Hambly died Wednesday at Mount Pleasant, about five days after an operation at the University hospital in Iowa City. Heart disease caused his death.
He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mary, and two sons, Bert and Glen. His mother and four brothers live in Canada, a brother, L. W. Hambly, is at Latimer; Al Hambly at Colo, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Johnson, Northwood.
Mr. Hambly was born near Minneapolis where he was engaged in the retail grocery business. In 1911 he was united in marriage to Miss Nora Whitemare. Mr. Hambly came to Northwood with his family in 1926 and except for three years they have made their home here. Just prior to his death he had been engaged in the automobile business at Mount Pleasant.
