Lorna was born to the late Albert and Bernice (Lien) Olesberg on March 29, 1953, in Seattle, Washington.
Lorna attended Lutheran Bible Institute in Everett, Washington, where she met her husband Douglas. They were married on February 17, 1974. In 1977, Doug and Lorna moved to the family farm in rural Joice. Working together, they built a home and family.
Lorna was an active member of Fertile Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and attended many small groups. Lorna worked alongside Doug on the farm, running for parts, driving tractor and delivering meals to the guys in the field.
After retiring from Shopko Pharmacy, Lorna could be found enjoying every minute with her family and grandkids. Whether cooking mac n’ cheese, baking chocolate chip cookies, having picnics in the field or a sleepover at gramma and papa’s house – Lorna made sure each grandchild felt loved and special. Lorna was always thinking of other people. Instead of dwelling on the negative, you could hear Lorna say ‘it is what it is’ as she moved onto the next task.
Lorna is survived by her husband of 44 years, Douglas; children, Jessie (Jake) Franklin, Mike (Samantha) Petersburg, and Jason (Cassandra) Petersburg; seven grandchildren, Brady, Taylor, Emma, Jackson, Katelyn, Julia and Joseph; siblings, Albert (Skip) Olesberg III, Sue (Rob) Atkins, Karen (Don) Berry and Jon (Lindsay) Olesberg; along with many more relatives and countless friends. Lorna was also a very special guardian to Kathy Petersburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Pam Olesberg.
