Northwood – Burton “Bud” K. Williams of Northwood died Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the Hospice of North Iowa Muse Norris Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 600 5th St, Kensett, IA. Inurnment will be in Kensett Cemetery, Kensett, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at the church on Monday.

Burton “Bud” K. Williams of Northwood died Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the Hospice of North Iowa Muse Norris Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 600 5th St, Kensett, IA. Inurnment will be in Kensett Cemetery, Kensett, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at the church on Monday.
Bud was born on the homestead in Rural Northwood on July 16, 1922 to Osmen and Gladys (Aryes) Williams. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kensett.
Bud graduated from Kensett High School. He joined the Navy in 1942 and served as a Pharmacists 1st Mate on board the USS McNulty until his honorable discharge in 1946. Bud farmed with his dad and on his own for many years. He also worked at the Crystal Sugar Plant in Mason City. Bud was a charter member of the Northwood VFW.
Bud married Dorothy Larson on June 19th, 1949.
Bud was cherished by many and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Williams of Kensett; three daughters, Kristie (David) Rabon of Nashville, TN, Marcia (Dennis) Goodale of Joice, and Brenda (Larry) Poppe of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; brothers Harlan (Sylvia) Williams of Colorado, and Warren (Ruth) Williams of Rochester, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Pearl and Muriel.
