James R. Marker, 88, of Northwood, died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Muse Norris Inpatient Unit, Hospice of North Iowa, in Mason City.

A celebration of his life was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at First Lutheran Church, 309 North Ninth St., Northwood, with the Rev. Judy Converse officiating.

Inurnment was held on Monday, April 24, in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood.

James Rudolf Marker was born on Oct. 16, 1928, the son of George and Anna (Geist) Marker in Mason City. He married Melba Braun on June 16, 1953, in Mason City, and to this union three sons were born.

He is survived by his wife, Melba Marker and his sons, Jimmy and Randy Marker.

James was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna Marker, and a son, Denny Marker.
