Ella N. Wahl, 84, of Grafton, died Wednesday evening February 25, 2004, at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, with Pastor Wayne Ellingson officiating. Interment was in the Grafton Cemetery.

Ella Norma Wahl was born in Hanlontown, April 8, 1919, the daughter of Halvor F. and Josephine (Roppe) Banken. Ella attended school and graduated in Iowa.

Ella was employed as a laborer of automotive filters for Fleetguard in Lake Mills for 20 years, retiring in 1981.

Ella enjoyed telling stories and jokes and she was a great one for pulling practical jokes on others.

She will be well remembered for being a fun and loving person.

Her interests included crochet and fishing.

She was a kind, patient, nurturing woman with a strong sense for family.

Ella regularly attended and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Grafton, and was active in the church's annual fundraiser of "Turkey Days."

Those grateful for having the privilege of sharing in Ella's life are her children, Roger (Margaret) Wahl, Gaston, SC, Arthur Wahl of Mason City, Wayne Wahl of West Memphis, AR, and Cheryl (Mike) McConnachie of Wood Lake, TX; her 10 grandchildren, Alan, Mark, Tanya, Stacy, Carmen, Chris, Tara, Jennifer, Rachel and Jessica; and 13 great-grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive her.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Armond; her daughter, Barbara Harms; her siblings and her parents.
