Effie Gelina (Galena) Huset was born May 12, 1889 at Black River Falls, Jackson, Wisconsin to Ole Andreasen Huset and Kari Andersdatter Lundene, the youngest of their seven children. Her older siblings were: Belinda, Albert Oliver, Ida Mathilda, Susanna Caroline, Clarence Oscar, and Alice Dorothea.

Effie's father, Ole, farmed at Wisconsin but died in 1890 at age 39. The mother and children soon moved to Emmetsburg, Iowa and then to St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. (Note: Effie's mother Kari did remarry to a Charles Solomon.)

Found Effie in the 1910 & 1915 censuses living at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1910: working as a servant for the Johan Olsen family: Effie Huset age 20.
1915: Effe G Huseth 24.

Effie married Carl T Johnson (1881-1954) before 1920 at probably St Ansgar, Mitchell County, Iowa. The couple had 2 children: Truman (1917-1966) and Geneva (1920-1959).

1925: Carl T Johnson 43, Effie Johnson 35, Truman Johnson 7, Genieva Johnson 4.

1930: Carl T Johnson 48, Effie Johnson 40, Truman Johnson 12, Geneva Johnson 9, Thomas M Johnson 82, Albert Husett 51, Bessie Concemius 15.

1940: Carl Johnson 58, Effie Johnson 50, Truman Johnson 22, Generva Johnson 19.

Effie died in 1954 at Joice, Worth, Iowa and is buried at the Bristol Lutheran Cemetery, Joice, Worth, Iowa beside her husband Carl and their two children.
