Agnethe (Agnette) Gulbrandsdatter was born December 5, 1849 at Ruud, Biridalen, Christens Amt, Oppland, Norway to Gulbrand Jensen (born 1790 Bakkum, Oppland, Norway) and Anne Petersdatter (born Ruud, Oppland, Norway), the second of six children.

Her siblings were: Johanna, Anton, Ingeborg, Ole and Petra (Gulbrands "datter" or "sen").

Agnethe married Anton Johannesen Johnson in 1869 at Biridalen, Oppland, Norway.

The couple had 10 children:
Gunda (Julia);
Johannes (John);
Mina (Minnie);
Anna;
Petronella (Nellie);
Johanna Marie (Mary);
Ida Matilda;
Alma Josephine;
Arlie Georgina and
Clarence Alvin.

The couple emigrated to Rock, Mitchell, Iowa in 1875 on the ship "Albion" with 2 children, Agnethe's sister, Ingeborg and her brother Ole.

Agnethe died April 20, 1945 at either Deer Creek, Worth, Iowa or Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. She is buried at the Deer Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Deer Creek, Worth, Iowa (near Carpenter, Iowa).
