Kari "Carrie" Haraldsdatter Grov was born January 8, 1838 at H​edalen, Valdres, Oppla​nd, Norway to Harald G​uttormsen Nordre Grov and Marit Ch​ristensdatter Stugaarden. Carrie left Norway and emigrated to Wisconsin.

She married​ Amund Nubson at Dane,​ Wisconsin in 1861. The couple had 4 children: Hanna, Henry, Martin and Ole who all used the surname Nubson. The family mo​ved west to a farm at Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa before 1870.

Family found in the 1870 census living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Amand Nunbson 31, Carrie Nunbson 33, Nicoline Nunbson 3, Nicole Nunbson 1, Jno Nunbson 23.

From 1873 Rock Creek Lutheran Church membership list: Amund Nubsen, age 33; wife Kari (Haraldsdatter Grov), age 34; Hannah Nicolene, age 6; Henrike Nicolai, age 3 1/2 and Martin, age 1 1/2.

Amund died November 17, 1884 at rural Kensett, Worth, Iowa.

Found the widowed Carrie in the 1885 & 1895 censuses living at Kensett, Worth, Iowa:
1885: Kari A Nubsen 46, Hanna Nubsen 18, Henry Nubsen 15, Martin Nubsen 13, Ole Nubsen 11.

1895: Karrie Neebson 56, Martin A Neebson 22, Ole A Neebson 21.

Carrie Nubson died​ October 7, 1899 at Kensett, ​Worth, Iowa and is buried at the Elk Grove Cemetery, Worth County, Iowa.
