VENTURA, IOWA - Lucile L. (Bednar) Snopek, 96, of Ventura, went to her eternal reward on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, surrounded by her loved ones.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home at 101 N. 4th St. in Clear Lake. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at St. Patrick�s Catholic Church, 1001 9th Ave. South, Clear Lake, with Reverend Jon Gossman officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Manly.
Lucile was born in Manly, on May 2, 1916 to Joseph and Anna (Koci) Bednar and was the oldest of three children. She was married in 1936 to Leslie Snopek, who passed away in 1969. Lucile is a former resident of Mason City and Osage, but has lived in Ventura with her son, Ed, since 1971. She was a generous and loving person whose home was always open and welcoming to family and friends.
Lucile will be dearly missed by her family: son, Edward of Ventura; daughter Karen (Joe) Chrencik of Traverse City, Mich.; grandchildren: Cheryl (Phil) Kapler of Lakeville, Minn.; Christa (Curt) Diemer of West Branch; Coleen (Don) Hellen of Divide, Colorado; Curtis (Patricia) Chrencik of Gaylord, Michigan; great-grandchildren: Monica, Ethan, Elena, and Owen Kapler; Kara and Julia Diemer; Mitch, Daniel, and Thomas Chisholm (and their father, Marty Chisholm); Ryan, Carley, and Joey Chrencik; her brother, Les Bednar of Mason City; and sister, Lilian (Ben) Navratil of Plymouth.
