Northwood - Robert Leslie "Rob" Eilertson, 44, Northwood, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at his home.

A funeral service for Rob will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at First Lutheran Church, 309 North Ninth St., Northwood, with Pastor Judy Converse officiating. Burial will be in the Deer Creek Valley Cemetery, rural Northwood.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave. South, Northwood. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service time on Friday at the church.

Robert Leslie "Rob" Eilertson was born January 16, 1968, in Mason City, the son of Doyle and Barbara (Harders) Eilertson. Rob was baptized at Deer Creek Valley Lutheran Church and reaffirmed the faith of his baptism through confirmation at First Lutheran Church. Rob received his education in the Northwood-Kensett and Mason City Community Schools. Rob worked as an auto body repairman for various companies in North Iowa, and also worked for Northwood Sanitation Service for 11 years and for Peterson Excavating in Kensett for the last two years.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Bess" Nitcher on January 17, 1992, at First Lutheran Church in Northwood.

Rob enjoyed racing, camping, snowmobiling, jet skiing and ice fishing. Rob is best remembered for being happiest socializing with family and friends.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Northwood, Northwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, and the Aristocrats Car Club in Northwood.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Bess Eilertson of Northwood; three children, Kayla (Anthony) Hauge of Round Lake Beach, Ill., Courtney Eilertson of Northwood, and Kristen Eilertson of Northwood; his brother, Gene (Kathy) Eilertson of Northwood, and Diane (Doug) Meyers of Dixon, Ill.; brother-in-law, Brad Zipse of Northwood; sisters-in-law, Kim (Wayne) Hull of Mason City, and Ronda Janka of Mount Vernon, Mo.; several special nieces, nephews; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Rob was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Zipse who died on Jan. 29, 2009; his parents, Barbara Eilertson who died on July 12, 2011, Doyle Eilertson who died on June 24, 2012; and his father and mother-in-law, Richard Hartkopp who died on Feb. 15, 1997, and Betty Nitcher who died on Feb. 14, 2000.
