Manly, Iowa - Jeanette Eugenia Roberts, 87, of Manly, died Monday, December 10, 2012, at the Manly Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Manly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 N. Broadway, Manly, with the Rev. Neil J. Manternach as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Manly Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, Dec. 14, at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 E. Spring St., Manly, from 4-6 p.m. A scriptural Wake service will take place at 6 p.m. Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Jeanette's name in care of her family.
Jeanette Eugenia Beauchamp was born on Nov. 8, 1925 in Olga, N.D, the daughter of Henry and Berthe (Jutras) Beauchamp. She was raised and lived in Olga before moving to Grand Forks, N.D., to attend Business School.
In November 1948 Jeanette was united in marriage to Vernon Johnson in Grand Forks. This union would be blessed with four children. The couple settled in Crystal, Minn., where they would live for over 30 years.
Jeanette spent many years working for Honeywell in Golden Valley until her retirement. Following her retirement she and Vernon began wintering in Texas. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Golden Valley.
In the summer of 1994 Vernon preceded Jeanette in death.On August 15, 1996, Jeanette was united in marriage to Delbert Roberts in Manly. She then moved to Manly where she became a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Red Hat Society.
Those grateful in sharing in her life are her husband, Delbert, Manly; children, Lawrence Johnson, Chaska, Minn., Carol (Harvey) Roxberg, St. Cloud, Minn., Terry (Gloria) Johnson, Crystal, Minn., and Daryl (Kristen) Johnson, St. Paul, Minn.; grandchildren, Allen (Christina) Schuh, Jennifer (Gary) Capan, Pete Johnson, Alec (Victoria) Johnson, Elise Johnson, Drew Johnson, and Dane Johnson; several great grandchildren; sisters, Racheal (Orval) Johnson and Jackie Andrys; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
