Clarence Walk, 81, died Friday, June 12, 1998, at the Northwood Lutheran Retirement Home following a long illness.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, with the Rev. Rose Marie Lewis officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.
Clarence Ferdinand Heinrich Walk was born on May 27, 1917, on a farm in Barton Township, Worth County, the son of Leonard and Edvina (Wilde) Walk. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. He attended Barton rural and Grafton Community School.
On May 28, 1939, he was united in marriage to Ethel Kuntz at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. After their marriage, Clarence and Ethel (Babe) lived on and operated the family farm until moving to Northwood in 1991. In recent years they traveled extensively in the United States. Clarence enjoyed his family, particularly his grandchildren. Fishing was his hobby and he always appreciated a good fish story or a joke. He will be remembered for his friendliness, his sense of humor and his concern for those close to him.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel, Northwood; a son, Daryl, Ft. Myers, FL; two daughters, Sharon Walk, Anchorage, AK, and Susan O'Brien, Milton, WI; granddaughters, Mandy and Megan Walk and Darcey and Christie O'Brien; a sister, Edna (Ellis) Schaub, Kensett; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
