Bernard Hugh Brush
NORTHWOOD - Bernard Hugh Brush, 90, Northwood, died Sunday (Aug. 2, 2009) at the Breen Center at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.
A memorial service for Bernard will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Northwood Baptist Church, 902 Second Ave. N., Northwood, with the Rev. Robert Luebbert officiating.
According to his wishes his body was cremated.
Bernard Hugh Brush was born on March 9, 1919, in Bassett, Neb., the son of Charles and Gertrude (Miller) Brush. Bernard graduated from Stanberry (Mo.) High School. Bernard moved to Colorado where he farmed and also worked for Eversman Implement in Denver before his retirement when he moved to the mountains in Colorado before moving to Northwood in 2004.
He enjoyed tinkering with engines and photography.He was a member of Northwood Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ardys Brush of Northwood; children, Glenn Brush of Lamoni, and Nancy (Leonard) Helfrich of Loveland, Colo.; step-children, Carol (Wayne) Austin of Northwood, Sandra Young of Reno, Nev., and Douglas (Susan) of Wilton; nine grandchildren and seven-great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family members and friends.
His parents; and a son, Eugene Brush, preceded him in death.
Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave. S., Northwood,641-324-1543, is in charge of the arrangements.
