Robert E. Nack, 57, of Grafton, died Sunday, May 2, 1993, at home with his family after a battle with cancer.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, with the Rev. Gregory Bjornstad and the Rev. Rose Marie Lewis officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.

Robert Elon Nack was born October 19, 1935, at his family home in Grafton, a son of Wilmer and Olga (Bartz) Nack. He was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member.

He graduated from Grafton High School in 1953. On December 16, 1973, he married Laurie Duvall at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton.

He worked at a taconite plant in Silver Bay, MN, for a short time, after which he dedicated his life to farming, which included numerous business ventures.

Mr. Nack was very active in the church, the Church Council and Building Commitee. He helped organize the GCA. He was an officer of Grafton Housing, a member of GDEC and the Depot Committee and a life member of the Worth County Historical Society. He was also a member of the NFO, AMM, Farmers Union and American Federation of Musicians Local 567.

Mr. Nack had served on the Grafton Centennial Commitee and the Worth County Bi-Centennial Committee. He was an avid supporter of Worth County Conservation and a member of the Grafton Boys Band. He enjoyed reading, music, trains and traveling.

Survivors include his wife, Laurie Nack of Grafton, step-daughter, Margie (Steve) Hansen, St. Ansgar; son, Dan Nack, at home, step-sons, James (Tami) Duvall, Winnemucca, NV, and John (Sandi) Duvall, Grafton; his stepmother, Alice Nack, Albert Lea, MN; one sister, Ramona Meyer, Austin, MN, one brother, Richard (Charlotte) Nack, Grafton; and 13 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Nack.
