DIES IN OSAGE AT
HOME OF DAUGHTERMrs. William Krueger, 92, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Havig, last Friday, after being in failing health for a long time.
Mrs. Krueger was born July 19, 1853 in Germany. Her father died when she was young and her mother brought her, two sisters and a brother to the United States, landing the day Mrs. Krueger was 14 years of age. They settled at Leeds, Wisconsin, and after some years moved to Mitchell County Iowa.
Mrs. Krueger married Fred Hartwig. Six children were born to them. All survived with the exception of red, who was killed in a train accident at Perham, Minnesota, a few years ago. The others are: Mrs. Havig, Otto, and Edwin, of Perham, Minnesota, Julius, of St. Ansgar; and Mrs. Martin Walk, of Kensett.
The family lived on a farm in Worth County for a few years but resided until the children were grown on a farm northwest of Grafton. Mr. Hartwig died in 1900.
In 1907 she married William Krueger, who passed away in 1916. Mrs. Krueger had made her home with her children's tent, and has been the past 11 years in the Havig home in Osage.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Shelledy Funeral Home and at 2:30 o'clock at the Grafton Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.
