NORTHWOOD - Ellen June Buehrer, 75, of Northwood, died Friday (March 16, 2001) at her home.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the First Lutheran Church in Northwood, with the Rev. Paul Holmer and intern pastor, Lynn Frank, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Highway 65 South in Northwood.

Ellen June Buehrer was born June 9, 1925, to William Sr. and Linda Luth Wolff. She passed away on Friday, March 16, 2001, at 10:57 a.m. at her home with her husband present. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Northwood. She was confirmed at the same church.

She was united in marriage to Eldon Buehrer on June 9, 1946. Four children were born to them, Sharon Kay Buehrer Haugebak from Tucson, Ariz., Randy Lee Buehrer from Northwood, Dawn Ellen Buehrer Steenhard from Mason City, and Mark Allen Buehrer from Northwood.

She worked for several years at Park Hospital in Mason City. In later years she was employed at North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

She was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary. She served as secretary for several years. She was also a past president of the Worth County Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Eldon Buehrer; daughter, Sharon Haugebak and husband, Rick, son, Randy and his fiancee, Laure, daughter, Dawn and her husband, Warren, son, Mark and his wife, Lori; six grandchildren, Nichelle Haugebak, Heather DeBerry, Nathan Buehrer, Terra Buehrer, Ryan Buehrer and Cory Buehrer; her brother, Bill Wolff and his wife, Ellen; sister, Margie Davis, sister, Evelyn Hanson; sister-in-law, Muriel Birk from Wanamingo, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Linda Wolff; and her sister, Gladys.
