Arthur Dale “Art” Wahl

February 20, 1945 - October 24, 2010

Arthur Dale “Art” Wahl, 65, Mason City, died Sunday, October 24, 2010, at his home.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126-3rd Street NE, Mason City, with Pastor Dennis Ganz officiating. Military honors will be conducted by members of Mason City Veterans Memorial Association at the funeral home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time on Thursday at the chapel.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place.

Arthur “Art” Dale Wahl, was born on February 20, 1945, in Mason City, the son of Armond and Ella (Banken) Wahl. Art attended school in Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School. Art was inducted into the U.S. Army and served overseas in Italy during the Viet Nam era. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Wiele in August 1970, and to this union four children were born, Tania, Stacy, Carmen, and Tara. Art worked for James Refrigeration in Mason City for many years and also worked at Armour Meat Packing Plant in Mason City for several years until his retirement due to ill health.

Art was united in marriage to Judith Baum, she preceded him in death in November 1997.

Art enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing games, but his greatest love and enjoyment was his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tania Morejon of Portland, OR, Stacy (Rob) Shaffer of Colorado Springs, CO, Carmen (John) Cebulski of Las Animas, CO, and Tara (Mark) Wyss of LaPorte City, IA; eight grandchildren, Christian Morejon of Portland, OR, Ryan Shaffer of Colorado Springs, CO, Beau, Jesse, Dakota, and Damian Cebulski of Las Animas, CO, and Kylee and Blake Faber of LaPorte City, IA; his brother, Roger (Margaret) Wahl of South Carolina; his sister, Cheryl (Mike) McConnachie of Texas; as well as other extended family members and friends.

Art was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith; sister, Barbara Harms, and his brother, Wayne Wahl.
