NORTHWOOD, IOWA - Mina O. Stoffregen, 92, of Northwood, died Wednesday (May 5, 2010) at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.

A funeral service for Mina will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the Northwood United Methodist Church, 1000 First Ave. N., Northwood, with Pastor Wendi Gillan officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.
Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave. S., Northwood, is in charge of the arrangements.

Mina was born on July 16, 1917, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of Reuben and Odie (Hodge) Henson. She attended school in Lytton, Iowa.

Mina was united in marriage to Edwin Stoffregen on Sept. 22, 1936. Together they farmed at Sac City, Iowa, before moving to Northwood in 1952, where they farmed and spent the rest of their lives.

Mina enjoyed traveling and flower gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mina worked at The Gift Shop in Northwood for many years.

Those left to cherish her life are her children, Patricia (Daryl) Larson, of Marshfield, Wis., and Charles Stoffregen, of Northwood; son-in-law, James Starkey, of Nisswa, Minn.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family members and friends.

Mina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin; her daughter, Laura Starkey; and infant sister; and her brother, Frederick Henson.
The family would like to thank the Lutheran Retirement Home and their caring staff for the excellent care they provided for Mina.
