Frances A. Walser, age 79, of Northwood, Iowa died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City  after a courageous three and one half year battle with cancer.

Funeral services for Frances were held at 2 pm. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Northwood United Methodist Church,  Northwood, Iowa with Rev. Robert Cumings officiating.  Burial was at the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood, Iowa. 
    
Frances was born on June 20, l927 in Carpenter, Iowa to Norris and Lela Adams Culbertson.

She graduated form Carpenter High School on  May 17, 1944 at the age of 16 and later attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City.  She was employed for two years in the business offices of Iowa State College, Ames and later in Mason City.
    
She married Ernest Walser on February 28, 1948 at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Iowa.  They enjoyed traveling to all 50 states in the U.S., Canada, several countries abroad, and especially their 33 winters spent together at their home in Arizona.
    
She was a member of the Northwood United Methodist Church.

Fran's greatest joy was her family, two children Dennis and Barbara Walser of Northwood, Debra and Husband Ronald Reuvers,  Primghar, Iowa, four grandchildren, Chad and wife Valerie Walser of Gill, Co; Tracie Walser of Laguna Beach, Ca; Teresa and husband Josh Bjork, Madrid, Ia.; Kristi and Husband Todd Steinkamp, Marshalltown, Ia; three step-grandchildren, Jennifer Reuvers of Moville, Ia; Jon and wife Dawn Reuvers, Vermillion, SD and Johana Reuvers of Brookings, SD and one great grandchild Caitlin Walser Deuel, Princeton, Mn,. Sister June(Chuck) Low, Palm Springs, Ca, Sister-in-law Ruth Martin, Mason City, Iowa, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
    
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Dean and Jack Culbertson.
