Doris Elaine (Forde) Asbjornson, 76, of Kensett, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett, with Reverend Tom Martin officiating.  Burial was in the Elk Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Kensett. 

Doris Elaine (Forde) Asbjornson was born on November 26, 1930, in Emmons, MN, the daughter of Selmer and Rose (Bergo) Forde.  She attended rural country schools near Emmons, MN.  Doris worked for Deluxe Manufacturing in Lake Mills for several years, before working at Mode-O-Day in Mason City.  Doris also worked for Carroll George Inc. in Northwood for 28 years until her retirement.
    
She was united in marriage to Alden "Aldy" Asbjornson on December 23, 1948, in Mason City.  He preceded her in death on February 8, 2004.
    
Doris enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, playing cards, and going for walks, but her great love and enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Doris also enjoyed the activities at the Lutheran Retirement Home and was elected 2007 Valentines Queen at the home.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the church circle in Kensett.
    
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Pam (Al) Foss of Goodell, Paula True and special friend, Mike Bartz of Clear Lake, and Penny Miranda and special friend, Chet Fields of Northwood, seven grandchildren, Brandi (Kris) Paulson of Mason City, Jason (Kristi) True of Carpenter, Travis Patterson of Mason City, Jeremy True and special friend, Lisa Welsh of Clear Lake, Jamee Hove of Northwood, Brent Asbjornson of Mobile, Alabama, and Misty Miranda of Northwood, five great-grandchildren, Hudsen Simmer, Tyler Paulson, Tyler Patterson, Cameron True, and Hannah True, two brothers, Stanley (Cynthia) Forde of Hempstead, Texas, and Ronnie (Liz) Forde of Toledo, Iowa, one sister, Shirley Peterson of Kimbalton, Iowa, as well as other relatives and friends. 
    
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alden, son, Mark, brother, Jerry Forde, and a sister, Beverly Nelson.
