MANLY, IOWA - Monica M. Nitcher 57, of 516 2nd Street S.E., Clarion, died Thursday, November 20, 2008, at her sister Becky's home very comfortable and peaceful, in her sleep, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, November 24, 2008, at the Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 East Spring Street, Manly, with Reverend David Kucera officiating from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Manly.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Monday. Memorials may be directed to the Monica M. Nitcher Memorial Fund.

Monica Marlene Hagen was born September 29, 1951, in Mason City, the daughter of Orville and Mary (Doebel) Hagen. She graduated from North Central High School, Manly and North Iowa Area Community College with her associate's degree. She was a supervisor at Carroll George Inc, Northwood for several years.

Monica enjoyed crocheting, scrabble, playing on the computer, shooting pool, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Monica was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manly.

Monica is survived by her mother, Mary Hagen, Manly, children, Todd Wainwright, Dubuque, Jeff (Kristy) Nitcher, Mason City, Adam Nitcher, Mason City; grandchildren, Shayle, Taylor, Rickie and Gabe; twin great grandchildren, Brayden Allan and Bryer Charles; siblings, Tom (Dorothy) Hagen, Northwood, Knute Hagen, Portland, OR, Sarah Hall and Harold Thompson, Annandale, MN, Becky (Lloyd) Pierce, Clarion; honorary sister, Cindy Gruette; brother-in-law, Larry Hull, Clarion; aunts, Monica Hagen, Mason City, Karen Payne, Northwood, Leone Christianson, Mason City, Bonnie Doebel, Clear Lake, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Monica is preceded in death by her father, Orville Hagen, brother, Marcus Hagen, sisters, Sharon Hrubetz, Elizabeth Nitcher, and Mary Rork, nephew, Marcus Hull and niece Janis Hull.
