DELYNNE 'DEE' KAE HENGESTEG

NORTHWOOD - DeLynne "Dee" Kae Hengesteg, 50, of 717 485th St., Northwood, left this world to meet her Lord on Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn., after a courageous six-year struggle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Silver Lake Lutheran Home, rural Northwood, with the Rev. Steven Smith and the Rev. Allan Stoa officiating. Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Highway 65 S., Northwood.

Dee was born Oct. 2, 1949, in Albert Lea, Minn., the daughter of Dolores and Raymond Fjelstad. She graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1968 and worked two years in Minneapolis. She married Clair Hengesteg in 1970 and they were blessed with two sons, Cory, of Northwood and Chris, of Ames. Dee's greatest joy was her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her giving nature and her great capacity to love. Her courage and faith were an inspiration to many.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Fjelstad, and grandparents.

In addition to her family, left to cherish her memory are her mother, Dolores Fjelstad, of Lake Mills; two brothers, Tim Fjelstad and family of Des Moines, and Tom Fjelstad of Newton; three sisters, Diane Longwell and husband of Colorado Springs, Colo., Debra Christianson and family of Lake Mills, and Donna Cooke and family of Clear Lake.
